Welcome to another new baby: Samuel James Ketcham… parents are Keith & Hannah Ketcham… grandparents are Tom Bice and Jackie Krogh.

We’re trying to do some fun things this summer during Wednesday Worship… healing services, praise services, etc… tomorrow is a 5th Wednesday and that means “Pastor’s Choice”! So what should it be??? Liturgical dance? A puppet show? Pirate Sunday? Pray for me and us! Worship is at 5:45… and now I think I’ve got an idea.

Pentecost Sunday… Can you see the Spirit? Can you hear the Spirit? Can you taste or touch or smell the Spirit? Come and find out.

Also… Farewell and Godspeed to Joe & Carol Doerges.

It’s Memorial Day Weekend… Worship is a good way to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and to give thanks for those who have gone before us.

 Welcome to the world Levi Keith!  Rick and Shasta had their baby on Monday and he is beautiful!

Road Trip Dining will be going to a Des Moines “classic” this month.  Join us Tuesday, May 29, for a road trip to Chuck’s Italian Restaurant in the Highland Park area of Des Moines. If you want to caravan with us, meet at the church for 6 pm departure; if you want to just meet us there, meet us at Chuck’s (3610 6th Ave DM – just north of Euclid) around 6:30.

Victo needs your help!  He’s thinking ahead to the basket/silent auction in November and wants it to be the biggest success ever!!  So he has the idea that we should prepare a BIG basket a month (June-September) as a congregation, then in October, committees, families, and individuals can pick out their own baskets to donate.  Victor has started with a wine basket theme for the month of June…..  you can see Victor and the basket on display in the window of the office (all will be kept in there under lock & key, then stored in a “secret place” until the auction).  Please donate wine-related items to add to the basket (yes, bottles of wine are perfectly acceptable); if we get more than this one basket will hold, we’ll create a second wine-themed basket.  Don’t forget: June’s basket theme is “Wine a Bit”!!

A few things about this summer’s Vacation Bible School:  Please check out the big sign sitting by the kitchen counter!  If you would like to volunteer, please sign up!  There will also be a giving tree for supplies that will be needed for this event coming very soon.  The dates are June 24th-28th in the evening.

One last Fundraiser!!  The Youth Group is getting really close to their fundraising goal.  The last hurdle is keeping this group of pilgrims fed for 7 days.  If you’d like to buy them breakfast, lunch or dinner, sign up today.  If you want to do more, you could buy a day’s worth of meals ($225)!  And it’s not limited to individuals, your business or committee or group could buy a meal too.  All meal    sponsors will…be listed in the sending service materials and get a message from the youth during the meal(s) you sponsor (text, phone call, email).  The message might be a silly photo, silly song, silly poem, or dance routine to express their gratitude, it will be fun!

Pastor would like to borrow some wind chimes… and oscillating floor fans for Sunday’s sermon… and he needs to have some advanced notice if you can bring yours!!!
