Summer Wednesdays with Grace (May 27 - July 1)
Starting on May 27, join us Wednesday evenings this summer for “Campfire Worship” — a casual, family-friendly time of fellowship and worship held outdoors around the fire pit (weather permitting of course). Together we’ll sing, pray, learn, and share in communion in a relaxed, come-as-you-are setting. Whether you're seeking connection, a midweek break, or just a chance to chat and eat s’mores, there’s space for you here.
Congratulations to the class of 2026!
We celebrate and give thanks to God for the class of 2026!
Peace be with you from Synod Assembly
Nanci Sande provides a recap of the 2026 Southeastern Iowa (SEIA) Synod Assembly held May 15 & 16 at First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, IA. Over 300 clergy, voting representatives, and guests from member congregations attended. The theme was “Peace Be with You” (John 20:19).
Social Action: Lutheran Day on the Hill
On February 26, Pastor Tania and David Sande joined over 200 fellow Lutherans to learn about critical issues facing Iowans and to advocate on behalf of Lutheran Services in Iowa. Read more about their adventures!
Easter Season Prayer Services
In times of uncertainty, division, joy, or sorrow, Christians are united whenever we pray together. During the season of Easter, ELCA congregations around the Des Moines Metro are hosting prayer services "Around the Cross" to pray for the healing of the nations, creation, and our communities.
Sharing Space and Serving the Community
The Adel Good Samaritan Food Pantry (GSFP) Backpack Program will operate out of Grace Lutheran Church during the Rapids Street closure and reconstruction project.
Read the Bible with Grace
Starting on January 4, 2026, join us to read through the whole Gospel of Matthew in four weeks. The daily plan includes readings (one chapter per day), themes, prayer, and reflection questions for each day. Use the theme and reflection question as a prompt for journaling, devotions, or discussion.
