Pastor Tania has served at Grace since September 2022. (Fun fact: Grace is also where she served on internship in 2017-18!) Tania received her Master of Divinity from Wartburg Theological Seminary in 2019. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Master of Arts in English from Iowa State University. Previously, Tania served at St. John Lutheran Church in Des Moines as Minister of Pastoral Care, at Windsor Heights Lutheran Church as the Children’s Ministry Coordinator, and for Wartburg Theological Seminary in digital teaching and learning support. Before a calling into ministry, Tania worked as a systems analyst and technical writer.
Tania is a life-long Iowan and lives in Waukee with her husband Dave, who works at GuideOne Insurance as a commercial lines underwriter and their two children. Joey is a student at Luther College, studying computer science and participating in their vocal music program, and Ben is a senior at Waukee High School who enjoys art, singing, and technology. Tania's greatest joy in ministry is sharing the love of God in Christ with people and accompanying them as they live out their faith in their daily lives and relationships.

As the new Parish Administrator, Shannon aims to bring a cheerful disposition and diverse experience to Grace. With extensive knowledge in social media and emerging digital communication tools and techniques, Shannon focuses on helping organizations and individuals integrate best practices for digital communication into daily operations through strategic planning, management, and peer collaboration.
With over eight years of experience in business development, sales, marketing, and coordinating community events, Shannon takes a visionary and holistic approach to developing effective and efficient communication strategies.

Abby Hoffman-Carlson, Education Coordinator

Abby and her husband, David, moved to Adel in the summer of 2020. Wanting to find a church home to raise their children in, they joined Grace Lutheran Church in 2021. That year, they welcomed their first daughter, Thea. Their second daughter, Nell, joined them in 2023. The girls love joining Pastor Tania up front each week for the children’s sermon.
Abby has worked with children for nearly 20 years. She holds a degree in education from the University of Northern Iowa. Abby has worked at Lutheran Church of Hope - Ankeny as the HopeKids Curriculum Coordinator, in several education roles at Living History Farms, and spent the 2020-21 school year as a nanny. Most recently, Abby has stayed home with her children to supervise their abundant shenanigans.
